Description: It's all fear and skittles for the Black Caps. The bruised and confused home side fell tamely yesterday as Sri Lankan fast bowler Lasith Malinga took a career-best 5-68 to give the tourists an iron grip on the second test. Malinga's slingy right-arm action from the Bob Vance Stand end saw New Zealand ripped out for 130 in its first innings. Sri Lanka then piled on the agony by reaching 225-5, a lead of 363 with three days remaining. With Brendon McCullum (bruised finger and instep) and Jacob Oram (hamstring) battling for fitness, the Black Caps appear to have a windsurfer's chance in a Wellington gale of salvaging a draw, let alone victory. |

lankacricket ::: Favorites Malinga has one of the straightest arms at the point of release. His arm is parallel to the ground, no flexation there. According the old laws of cricket bowlers were allowed to flex their arms or loosly put an elbow jerk of 5 degrees, studies later proved even mcgrath had a flexation of 12-13 degrees so the law was useless it made every bowler a chucker. They changed it to 15 because only at 15 can the eye see a jerk. 07-10-03 18:11:57 __________________________________________________
lankacricket ::: Favorites It can get kinda confusing with all the "experts" and their comments below but none of them seem to understand the 15 degree flex rule whatsoever. 07-10-03 18:11:40 __________________________________________________
agent0sephiroth ::: Favorites I'm just curious but how did they decide the legal angle of extension to be 15degrees? 07-10-03 11:22:59 __________________________________________________
ashleyfish ::: Favorites yes he straightens his arm less then 15 degrees so that amit111978 does not know what he is on about. malinga and chaminda vaas can rip any team apart with the help of murali 07-09-15 14:04:32 __________________________________________________
pubuman ::: Favorites You just know that was some retribution for what McCallum did... Malinga was happy just to bowl the others out... but roughed McCallum up with some real aggression, good to see it from SL to be honest... reminiscient of the Windies. 07-09-14 15:06:13 __________________________________________________

lankacricket ::: Favorites Embarassing, if you call that a throw. You need to learn your cricket mate, Jeff Thompson and various others have had slingy actions in the past. 07-09-06 06:32:06 __________________________________________________
