I'm not a pilot or air traffic controller so I can't give you any exact information. But there is a basic guideline called 3 to 1 rule. Divide your cruise altitude by 1000 and multiply by 3, then you get the distance in nautical miles from where you should start your descend. So, if you cruise at FLT300 then you should start your descend at 90 miles out.

Hi! Press "display/hide map button" on your panel. Zoom in the airport and double-click on the runway. Then you should get information regarding runway length/surface ILS freq. and so on.

If you set up a flight plan, MSFS will calculate estimated fuel burn for your route. But use it on your own risk -- it usually underestimates the fuel need. The best way is to calculate fuel need for; taxi for departure, take of/climb, cruise, descend, approach/missed approach, reverse, taxi to gate and safety time and so on. You must know fuel burn per hour, weight, cruise altitude/speed. You burn less fuel at high altitudes. For which aircraft do you want to make calculations?

MSFS underestimates fuel burn ? I often found that at the end of any journey e.g SCEL-CYYZ I had over 10,000 litres of fuel to spare.... Nice tutorial though :)
