Description:

I imagine that if Phil Ochs was alive today he would take no pleasure in the knowledge that the words of many of his songs like "Cops of the World" are still very relevant today. Here is "Cops of the World" by Phil Ochs with photos which show just how shockingly relevant the song is today.

Bush's foreign policy is a far greater threat to world peace than any terrorist group.

Hey rusty - the us soldiers are committing war crimes in Iraq. Just following orders in an illegal criminal war is not a defense. And by the way Santa doesn't exist so don't believe everything big people tell you.

In November 2006, the former US Army Brigadier General Janis Karpinski, in-charge of Abu Ghraib prison until early 2004, told Spain's El Pais newspaper Rumsfeld okayed abuses. So, unless the Bush administration takes orders from your father, I don't see how this is "dissing" him.

This video is critiquing U.S. foreign policy, which is made by politicians, not be soldiers. Many of the photos are from Abu Ghraib detention center, where many prisoners were subjected to torture, rape, humiliation, abuse and murder.

my dads over in iraq^^ but i hope this isnt dissing them, because my dad sent me pics of him with the kids, and the houses, etc, and i miss my dad alot so i hope your not insulting them, because they only shot people who are shoting at them, and the people inprisoned are bad people, and most of all for my mom because she has a hard time with him over there

The song has nothing to do with law enforcement. The term "Cops of The World" here is being used by in a sarcastic, and deliberately defamatory manner to illustrate the imperialistic tendencies in US foreign policy. The US govt. uses the term "Police Action" as a euphemism for military action taken without a formal declaration of war. (like in Vietnam for example.)

How could the wanna be president just sit back as all of thid nonsence continues. Amd this song is not relevant because those bullies do not represent the cops of the world they represent everything that law enforcment stands for.

Why can't we exchange people like Lyndie England for innocent hostages? Wouldn't that be win-win for everybody?

sure you done Phil proud. sickening to watch the vid, but it defo needs to be seen, if this and the bodybags coming home, etc was on the news every night, would the people make sure the wars stopped? still, they pay no attention to our mass marches, etc, maybe we need to 'turn the whole fkn system upside down' only way to end all wars is socialism

Yeah, this song is well over fourty years old, yet sadly still defines U.S. Foreign Policy right down to the line,"The name for our profits is democracy."

1965. 1965! "Those who forget the lessons of history are doomed to repeat it." Of course, how could Bush remember anything about Vietnam? He has knocked out loaded the whole time.
