MarvD ::: Favorites Loved this movie, great film and a soundtrack that deserved every award available. I went to see it the first week of it's release in April 1976. Immediately it reminded me somewhat of the Supremes story. It really disturbed me that Sister (Lonette McKee) dies in the film. Florence Ballard of the Supremes died in February 1976 just 2 months prior to the release of Sparkle.
